Case Study Overview
Red7Marine completed a contract working on one of Scotland’s largest private investment infrastructure projects. The £2.6bn Beatrice Offshore Windfarm (BOWF) is situated in the Outer Moray Firth and will generate power for approximately 450,000 homes, which is around three times the number of homes in the Moray and Highland regions.

The Challenge
84 Siemens 7MW turbines are being installed at the site providing a total capacity of 588MW once complete. The initial works began on the project in March 2017 which involved installing cable ducts at a site location to the west of Buckie. Red7Marine supplied the Haven Seariser 1 jack up barge with a qualified bargemaster to assist the removal and transport of the tunnel boring equipment

The Solution
Red7Marine’s in-house engineering team also supported the project by providing detailed jack up barge leg penetration analysis, floating stability calculations, sea-fastening designs, deck plans and provided the technical support across the marine side of the project.
