Pre-Construction & Engineering

Strategic planning and expert engineering for efficient, cost-effective marine projects

Red7Marine provides expert pre-construction and engineering services to optimise specialist marine projects from concept to execution.

By combining technical expertise with real-world operational experience, we offer practical, buildable solutions that streamline project delivery, enhance safety, and minimise costs. Our services range from feasibility studies and construction risk assessments to site-specific vessel assessments and bespoke temporary works designs.

Our Pre-Construction & Engineering Services

Pre-Construction Engineering & Feasibility

Our experience in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and feasibility studies ensures that projects are cost-effective, realistic and efficiently planned, reducing unexpected delays and unnecessary expenditure. We help optimise methodologies, assess environmental constraints, and ensure the smooth integration of construction operations from the outset.

01 Engineering for Real-World Projects

We translate conceptual designs into buildable solutions, ensuring they are efficient, cost-effective and achievable within real-world constraints.

02 Feasibility Studies That Minimise Risk

By assessing environmental, structural and logistical factors early, we identify potential challenges and develop tailored mitigation strategies.

03 ECI for Smarter Delivery

Our early contractor involvement approach ensures practical, procurement-friendly solutions, reducing programme risk and maximising project efficiency.

04 Procurement & Scheduling Expertise

We evaluate lead times and material availability to avoid supply chain bottlenecks and to keep projects on track.

Temporary & Permanent
Works Design

Red7Marine specialises in developing bespoke temporary works such as piling gates, crane platforms and lifting tools, optimised for performance and reusability. Our team ensures seamless integration between temporary and permanent works, improving constructability while keeping projects cost-efficient.

01 Innovative Design & Management

We design and fabricate project-specific solutions to ensure efficient construction execution, practical buildability and long-term resilience.

02 Maximising Reusable Efficiency

Where possible, we adapt and repurpose existing piling gates and structures to reduce project costs and environmental impact.

03 Engineering for Challenging Environments

Our designs consider site-specific constraints such as seabed conditions, environmental restrictions and operational limitations.

Specialist Assessments
& Compliance Support

We provide detailed stability and mooring evaluations, ensuring jack-up barges, floating platforms and marine plant are secure and fully optimised for site conditions, ensuring safe and legally compliant operations. Our expertise extends to navigating licensing and regulatory approvals, helping clients meet industry standards while minimising risks and delays.

  • Vessel Stability & Leg Penetration Analysis
Using ISO 19905-compliant leg penetration calculations, we assess jack-up barge stability to ensure safe seabed positioning and secure operational performance.
  • Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
Our team supports clients in MMO, DCO, EA and PLA approvals, ensuring projects align with licensing requirements and minimise environmental impact.
  • Jacked and Floating Stability Calculations
Our analyses ensure that barges, jack-up platforms and support vessels can remain stable and operationally secure in fluctuating marine conditions.
  • Pile Driveability Assessments
Red7Marine has the in-house expertise and systems to carry out pile driveability assessments to evaluate/predict pile behaviour and inform plant selection for efficient and safe operations.
  • Weather Downtime Assessments
Marine projects are often limited by weather and operational parameters. Red7Marine provides weather downtime assessments to determine optimal working windows to help keep projects on programme.

Lifting Operations
Design & Supervision

Red7Marine designs, plans and supervises lifting operations, providing specialist expertise in seafastening, crane positioning and lifting equipment design. With in-house professionally qualified AutoCAD engineers, we develop detailed lift plans that optimise operational flow, reduce risks and keep projects compliant with industry standards.

01 Bespoke Lifting and Stability Solutions

Our engineers design and fabricate tailored lifting tools, upending frames, and seafastening solutions to meet the precise demands of any marine project.

02 Precision Lift Planning & Execution

We develop detailed lift plans, optimising crane positioning, weight distribution and stability for safe and efficient operations.

03 On-Site Lifting Supervision

Our specialist appointed persons and lift supervisors provide live oversight and execution support, ensuring compliance with strict marine safety standards.

Case Study:
Wapping Boat Yard Lift and Pontoon Refurbishment Works

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, a party boat collided with the police mooring pontoon at Wapping Boat Yard. The damage was extensive so we were brought in for the emergency repairs, which were completed swiftly even while ensuring a temporary police berth could remain operational throughout.

“Falmouth Divers Ltd contracted Red7Marine at the end of 2019 to undertake the installation of two rock-socketed piles at the Jupiter Point Royal Naval training facility near Torpoint. Red7Marine mobilised its SeaSeven jack-up vessel from Liverpool and transited it to Plymouth in early January through a gap in the seasonally bad weather. The mobilisation was conducted efficiently within a week as planned.”
