Red7Marine recently supported GPS Marine and Civil Services Ltd with the design of a pile gate being used on the company’s current project at the Port of Sheerness.
Our in-house engineering team made modifications to our existing pile gate, which was originally used on Red7Marine’s Galloper project. The two-tiered gate was used to assist pile driving for the creation of a new pontoon facility for the Galloper Offshore windfarm.

For the Sheerness project, Red7Marine’s engineers worked with the team at GPS MACS to understand their requirements, needing the gate to suit the installation of 38m long x 1.4m diameter piles. All modifications were then made in our fabrication workshop before being delivered to site.
Once on-site, the piles were installed using a PTC 130 vibro hammer and Junttan HH16S hydraulic drop hammer, with the pile gate supported from the crane barge deck.
