The Marine Partner of Choice, Red7Marine, is currently recruiting for its next best Maritime Civil Engineer. We’re looking for a passionate civil engineering student to join our in-house engineering team on a placement year from July 2020.

Work placements provide students with the opportunity to gain skill specific industry experience coupled with employability skills required for future careers. We’re dedicated to providing the next generation of talent with pathways to succeed and kick-start their career in this dynamic and diverse industry.

Throughout the university placement, you will have the opportunity to work on a fascinating range of maritime projects both in the UK and overseas whilst gaining invaluable industry experience.

You will acquire a broad range of experience in different aspects of maritime project delivery from option analysis, project planning, design and drawing preparation through to site delivery of marine projects around the UK. We are looking for a versatile candidate who can adapt to our project specific requirements undertaking tasks on-site and in-office that are likely to include:

• Production of sketches and drawings
• General solving of engineering problems & planning
• Various Front-End Engineering Design
• Surveying and setting out
• HSE and CDM document coordination
• Construction setting out and surveying
• Assist in keeping up to date in relevant IT

We’re looking for a student who is working towards at least a 2:1 Merit BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering. Attributes we are looking for include: good communication skills, a knowledge of IT systems (with experience using CAD and structural design software advantageous) and the ability to work within a team environment. During your placement, you’ll work closely within the engineering department formed of engineers, project managers and marine operatives, as well working with our site teams on live projects.
