Marine Civils

Expert marine solutions across complex environments, from piling to demolition and structural repair

Red7Marine delivers reliable, specialist marine civil services across the UK’s coastal, estuarine, and inland waterway environments.

From heavy-duty piling and jetty construction to marine demolition and scour protection, our team brings decades of hands-on experience, supported by in-house engineering, fabrication and a specialist fleet. We approach every project with a focus on buildability, safety and environmental care – whether we’re operating in a busy port or a tidally restricted river. With early contractor involvement and practical ingenuity embedded from the start, we help clients reduce programme risk and deliver successful outcomes – even in the most challenging marine conditions.

Our Marine Civils Services

Piling

We are specialists in overwater piling operations, capable of delivering everything from sheet piling and cofferdams to rotary bored and rock socket installations. With our own fleet of jack-up barges and an in-house fabrication and engineering team, we adapt quickly to suit any project environment. Our focus on constructability, sustainability and our use of alternative methods and materials also helps clients reduce risk and time on site.

  • Tubular Piling
Accurate installation of vertical and raking tubular piles using our piling gates, designed to suit our fleet of jack-up barges.
  • Combi-wall Piling
Extensive experience in tube-and-sheet systems, ideal for retaining walls and flood defence structures.
  • Sheet Piling & Cofferdams
Cofferdam solutions and sheet piling installations delivered from concept through to completion.
  • Rock-Socket Piling
When necessary because of ground conditions, we use jack-up barges to ensure the correct positioning of rock sockets and avoid unnecessary operational delays.
  • Rotary Bored Piling
In overwater environments, operations are carried out from the stable working platform of a jack-up barge. And, where ground instability extends beyond the reach of temporary casing, support fluids such as bentonite or polymers may be introduced to maintain bore integrity.

Ports, Harbours,
Piers & Jetties

Red7Marine has delivered the construction, extension, repair and refurbishment of jetties, piers and marine infrastructure in some of the UK’s busiest shoreline facilities. We plan around ongoing operations, tidal movements and sensitive ecosystems to ensure safe, sustainable delivery with minimal disruption.

  • Integrated Planning in Live Environments
Our team works flexibly in busy environments, coordinating with clients and adapting logistics and methodology in real time.
  • Acoustic Surveys & Noise Mitigation
We conduct background and real-time monitoring to minimise the impact of our work on local wildlife and residents.
  • Licence & Consent Support
With deep experience navigating MMO and EA requirements, we help clients secure all necessary permissions for their marine works.

Marine
Demolition

For marine structures that reach end-of-life, we offer safe, efficient removal services supported by specialist plant and decades of experience. Our jack-up barges provide a stable platform for demolition activities, helping to minimise environmental impact and risks and to comply with stringent health and safety standards.

  • Safe Structural Removal
We dismantle jetties, dolphins, quay walls, and more, always focused on safety, marine environment impact and compliance.
  • Environmental & Weather Assessments
Operational delays can be reduced and safety issues mitigated by the weather downtime studies and site risk assessments we conduct.
  • Waste Management
All demolition activities are delivered in line with environmental legislation and project-specific waste handling protocols.

Inland
Waterways

Red7Marine has worked extensively on the UK’s canal and river systems, delivering piling, bank stabilisation and access solutions in tight, shallow or heavily restricted environments.

We design bespoke plant and logistics strategies tailored to the unique conditions of each site (and the route to them), from 90-degree bends and low bridges to tidal constraints and narrow access channels.

01 Bespoke Plant Configurations

Our engineering team can reconfigure our jack-ups and create tailored deck plans to suit inland restrictions and specialist scopes.

02 Precision Navigation & Logistics

We manage all vessel movement and planning, considering river traffic, narrow waterways and clearance heights.

03 Live Traffic & Environmental Considerations

Operations are timed and executed with full awareness of local waterway users, regulations and ecological protections.

Pipelines
& Outfalls

From the construction and refurbishment of marine outfalls to the relining of pipelines, we support installations and operations in highly regulated, high-risk coastal environments. Our experience includes operations at nuclear and renewable energy sites, where compliance, safety and engineering precision are critical.

  • Marine Construction & Refurbishment
Complete support for the installation and relining of all manner of pipelines and outfalls along the UK’s coastline.
  • Regulatory & Environmental Alignment
All works are executed with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance and reduced impact in sensitive locations.

Scour Protection
& Remediation

We deliver effective erosion control systems to protect marine structures from scouring, whether around piers, bridge abutments, or turbine foundations. With experience in difficult to access locations and fragile environments, we select and install the most suitable systems.

  • Complete Scour Protection Solutions
We install grout bags, pipe flex mattresses, gabions and concrete mats depending on project needs and access limitations.
  • Environmentally Sensitive Delivery
All works are planned to minimise estuarian and seabed disruption.

Emergency
Repairs

When structural damage or failure occurs, we can rapidly mobilise our fleet and team to deliver stabilisation and emergency repair.

01 Rapid Deployment

We mobilise quickly in response to coastal storms, flood damage, or marine structure failures – deploying our in-house plant and personnel.

02 Efficient Water-Based Access

Repairs are executed from jack-up barges and specialist vessels, reducing the impact on landside infrastructure and enabling a faster resolution.

Case Study:
Portland Port Deep-Water Berth

We were asked to install a 400m combi-wall of steel tubular and sheet piles for Portland’s new deep-water berth. Utilising our jack-up barges, including a 1,000t Haven SeaChallenger, we delivered precise piling solutions to accommodate larger vessels at the port.

“Our relationship with Red7Marine and their Personnel through all stages of this challenging Project has been based on partnership and co-operation. A huge consideration was given at the initial phase to identify potential difficulties. This has been followed by development of various scenarios and methods of addressing such difficulties which provided a great benefit during actual works. We look forward to continuing the relationship with the Red7Marine team.”
