Red7Marine is currently supporting Knights Brown on a £1.7M project for the construction of an Outer Wave Screen within the Outer Harbour at the Port of Dover.

Our Projects team are carrying out the piling for the scheme which comprises of a detached, piled wave screen of approximately 59m in length at the entrance to the new marina within Dover Harbour. The Wave Screen is made up of 59no 1m diameter x 26.5m long Tubular Piles.

The wave screen has been designed to protect the marina from wave energy reflected from the north-eastern corner of the harbour at high water, and alleviate the swell situation that was shown to occur very occasionally during specific weather conditions.

The piling is being carried out from our 250t jack-up barge, the Haven Seariser 4, and we also modified a combi-wall piling gate within our fabrication facility in Ipswich, to be used on the project.

The piling operations for the new Tug Haven berths in Dover have been continuing this week with the team installing the final six piles with only a few left to complete. This is excellent progress and a testament to the team.
