Red7Marine’s Haven SeaConstructor barge is currently working in Felixstowe supporting Volker Stevin with the Berth 9 port expansion project.

Over the next year, Volker Stevin will be working to reclaim 3.2 hectares of seabed in Felixstowe port to construct an area that will be used for extra container storage.

Berth 9 in Felixstowe was extended by 920m 18 months ago to accommodate the world’s largest container ships. Extra storage space is now required to stack boxes that are being unloaded from the number of mega-ships arriving at the port.

Nick Offord, CEO at Red7Marine commented: “It is great to be supporting Volker Stevin with the Berth 9 Port Expansion works. This deployment took place very near to our operational yard in Ipswich, so it is a delight for us to be working within our community. This expansion will make Felixstowe one of the UK’s largest container ports and we are excited to watch the project progress.”
