Our Head of Recruitment and Development at Red7Marine, Chris Allen, has been extremely busy recently working with the innovative Youth Employment Service – MyGo.
MyGo is a service designed to provide 16 – 24-year olds in the Ipswich and Suffolk area with the right tools and support to start and progress their careers. This is done through either finding them employment, education or training.
Kelly Weeding, Employment Advisor at MyGo comments: “Unlike some companies, Red7Marine has the ability to offer specialist training and exceptional career prospects. The programmes offered to young individuals by Red7Marine are designed to help them find a role in a sector where they can have a successful career and we couldn’t wait to begin a working relationship with the company.”
Chris has been working with MyGo to recruit marine operatives to join Red7Marine’s growing team aboard its new Eurojack 3923 jack up barge which is heading to the south west to start work on its first project and for numerous upcoming projects around the UK. The marine operatives that are recruited will also have the opportunity to progress into the role of trainee barge master.
In order for the young individuals to gain an insight into what the role may entail, Chris held a two-week taster course. Having started with the process back in May, Red7Marine has successfully recruited four individuals now.
This partnership meets Red7Marine’s aim of growing and developing its workforce over the coming years. Red7Marine has extensive experience within the marine construction, consultancy and plant hire sectors and has the ability to provide young individuals with invaluable experiences.
Chris comments: “It has been an extremely exciting couple of weeks working with MyGo. We have successfully taken on four new recruits and hope to take on more after our second round of interviews. These young individuals have shown great professionalism and passion for the roles in which they are applying. We can’t wait to welcome the new team members and see them begin a long and successful career with R7M.”
