Offshore Wind

Supporting offshore wind farms from inception and construction to O&M and decommissioning

Red7Marine provides tailored services to the offshore wind sector across the entire life cycle of their structures.

From initial site investigations, installation, operations and maintenance through to decommissioning. Our experience, working with developers on various offshore wind projects such as Gwynt y Môr, Hornsea 3 and Walney to name just a few, highlights our understanding of the complexities involved in working at these often exposed and challenging sites.

Our Marine Wind Farm Services

Operations and Maintenance (O&M)

Downtime is costly, so our team are on standby to ensure swift, expert intervention when structural or component maintenance and replacement is needed. Red7Marine offers a range of services including vessels, crew, equipment, planning and engineering services, to deliver a truly turnkey O&M solution.

  • Component Repairs
Expert teams support the repair and replacement of any structural or operational part of a wind farm to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
  • Cost-Effective Fleet
Smaller, more versatile vessels provide a competitive alternative to traditional O&M solutions.
  • Specialist Support
Our in-house team of engineers can help with: site-specific assessments, leg penetration analysis, seafastening design, project management, lift planning and supervision. We also regularly work with marine warranty surveyors who review all relevant documentation and approve our vessels for the task at hand.

Site Investigation

A full understanding of the conditions on site is vital to the success of any project at sea.

Examples of site investigation campaigns we’ve supported with our vessels and accompanying personnel at UK wind farms include:

  • Scroby Sands Offshore Wind Farm
  • Sofia Offshore Wind Farm
  • Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farm

Decommissioning

Red7Marine offers turnkey packages for decommissioning operations whether it’s met masts, blades or foundations.

Managing everything from engineering feasibility and equipment planning to the safe removal of infrastructure, our proven track record and focus on safety ensures clients can trust us to handle this critical final phase with care.

Artificial Nesting Structures

Red7Marine installed the UK’s first artificial nesting structure as a part of the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm development.

Comprising piled foundations and topside structures, these are increasingly becoming a requirement of Development Consent Orders for new offshore wind farms.

Red7Marine has the unique experience and specialist technical knowledge to deliver these projects under the full role of Principal Contractor managing the design, supply, installation, EPC and EPCI.
